It is a family business dedicated to coating metal surfaces. They have facilities of 2,000 square meters. They make the coatings of galvanized, phosphated, silver, copper, tinned, nickel plated and chromed, among others.
Thanks to the energy audit, the company obtained a more accurate view of its energy consumption by type of equipment and an integral view of its energy consumption.
So far, the energy efficiency measures implemented are the following:
- They have been replaced in two different lines, the 15-year-old oil rectifiers with new ones of the same intensity but of lower consumption. The energy savings generated are 25%.
- The movement mechanism has been changed in the galvanized line. Before there was an engine in each tank to move the drums (20 in total) and now the engines are coupled to the drums (8 in total). Before the engines were running continuously and now the engines only work when the drums are active.
- These two actions together generate an energy saving of 35% of the cost of electricity.
- • In three bathrooms they have installed an automatic temperature control system, so the heaters are not running continuously. We estimate that this action causes a 20% reduction in the cost of the electricity.
